Anglo-Eastern and Orca AI form alliance to deploy AI-assisted navigation across 750 vessels

Anglo-Eastern Ship Management and Orca AI have entered into a strategic partnership that will see Anglo-Eastern support the installation of Orca AI’s maritime operations platform across more than 750 ships, according to the companies.

The agreement makes Anglo-Eastern the first major ship management provider to commit to AI-assisted situational awareness at scale, with the partners aiming to enhance safety, reduce risk and improve data-driven fleet operations. Anglo-Eastern will incorporate Orca AI’s technology into its customer offering, including the SeaPod digital watchkeeper and the FleetView monitoring tool for office-based teams.

“Safety is paramount, and the Orca AI platform provides an extra layer of support when it matters most,” said Torbjorn Dimblad, CIO of Anglo-Eastern. He noted that the system reduces workload and issues alerts and recommendations in critical navigation scenarios. Dimblad added that Anglo-Eastern’s diverse client base drives the company to explore new technologies and highlighted that it is the first ship management company to commit to AI-assisted navigation.

For Orca AI, the partnership represents its first collaboration with a ship management company, extending its client base beyond shipowners and operators. “Anglo-Eastern is one of the most trusted names in global ship management,” said Yarden Gross, Co-founder and CEO of Orca AI, adding that the decision to partner signals growing market interest in AI-supported operations.

Anglo-Eastern Univan Group is an international provider of independent ship management services headquartered in Hong Kong. Its activities include full technical management, crew management and newbuilding supervision, supported by a global network of offices, training centres and an in-house maritime academy. The group employs thousands of seafarers and shore-based staff across multiple regions.

Orca AI is a maritime technology company headquartered in London that develops AI-based platforms for navigational support, operational decision-making and fleet-level insights. Its systems use computer vision and data analytics to enhance situational awareness for vessel crews and provide performance information to fleet managers. The company collaborates with shipping organisations and research partners on projects involving autonomous and semi-autonomous vessel capabilities.
