M V LORINNA 1185 gross tons. Lb: 241' x 35' x 15'4" (70.3 x 10.7 metres).

Steel hulled single screw motor vessel (diesel) built 1938 by Grangemouth Dockyard, Grangemouth for Wm. Holyman & Sons Pty Ltd, Melbourne. Service speed 10.5 knots.

Cargo only, as a timber carrier between Tasmania and the mainland. Was skippered by Elmer Malanot, who was an aristocratic Austro-Hungarian and former WWI U-Boat commander.

Commandeered during WW2 in the 'Small Ships Fleet', as controlled by the U S Forces. Returned to owners post hostilities.

Sold 1961 to J.Manners & Co renamed Brenda. 1968 renamed Union Brenda. December 1970 Accommodation badly damaged by fire at Brunei.

Sold 1973 to Blanda Lines, Singapore reg. Panama 1977 same owners & renamed Luctor 1.

Broken up at Gadani Beach October 1979.
