The Danish conglomerate Maersk Group recently posted this image of Captain Thomas inspecting his freshly painted Triple E container ship Edith Maersk.
The 13, 500 TEU Edith Maersk was delivered to Maersk Line in 2007, and is the sister ship of Emma Maersk. The ship has a length of 397m and a beam of 56m.
The depth of the Edith Maersk is 30m, and while fully loaded she can reach a draft of 17.5m.
The deadweight of the container ship is 156,907 metric tons, while the gross tonnage is 170,794 gross tons.
The ship is powered by a 14-cylinder Wärtsilä RT-flex diesel engine with a power of 80,000 kW.
